    Responsibilities

    In this role, you will provide onsite technical documentation support in a fast-paced production environment, helping to develop informational products for an organization that provides analytical expertise on national security issues to high-level policymakers, subject experts, and working groups, as well as to technical personnel throughout the U.S. Government. You will translate highly technical information—including textual and visual data—into clear, readable documents and other products to be used by technical and non-technical personnel. 

     

    In this role, you will also support the development of all forms of documentation by developing and updating graphics presentations to improve quality and usability & will be responsible for integrating the graphics generated with automated tools into the deliverable documents. You will also interact with printing professionals in the Sponsor’s organization to ensure quality control, and with IT staff and outside vendors to obtain state-of-the-art capabilities. 

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • Current TS/SCI w/Polygraph eligibility 
    • Bachelor’s Degree in technical communication/editing, journalism, graphic design, multimedia design, art graphic design, web design, visual communications, or related field. Seven (7) years’ demonstrated on-the-job experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree requirement. Master’s Degree in one of these areas is desirable but not required. 
    • Minimum of three (3) years recent demonstrated on-the-job experience in technical communication—especially in technical editing—or in a graphic design or multimedia environment.
    • Demonstrated on-the-job experience with product lines of Sponsor's partners.
    • Demonstrated on-the-job experience with the use of: information visualization and MS Office. Expertise with HTML, XML, CSS, and Javascript and demonstrated on-the-job experience with developing multimedia interactives are desirable.
    • Demonstrated on-the-job experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat).
    • Demonstrated on-the-job experience with data visualization techniques, including the rapid assimilation of large quantities of data into comprehensive, cohesive, and easy-to-understand products.
    • Demonstrated on-the-job experience with media production, communication, dissemination, and archiving techniques and methods, to include alternative and innovative forms of written, visual, and oral communication.
    • Demonstrated on-the-job experience with knowledge management (KM), to include development and maintenance of taxonomies, archiving and indexing of product repositories, and information discovery and retrieval. 
    • Demonstrated on-the-job experience exhibiting communication skills, including the ability to describe complex visualization concepts. Expertise in oral presentation before a variety of audiences—including senior policymakers—is desirable.
